Though the PSP has long since been discontinued, the demand for its games remains strong—so much so that fans often call for modern remakes. Many of the most beloved PSP games were pianototo technically ambitious and creatively daring, and with today’s hardware capabilities, these classics could be reborn with stunning new visuals, refined mechanics, and expanded content. A proper remake could not only preserve their legacy but also introduce them to an entirely new audience.

Take Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII, for example. Its original PSP version was a triumph in storytelling and action-RPG design, but limited by the handheld’s graphical and control limitations. While it has since received a remaster, fans continue to imagine what a full-scale remake could do with PS5-level fidelity and expanded narrative elements. Likewise, Daxter, the witty platformer spin-off from the Jak and Daxter series, showcased just how much charm and polish a PSP game could have. It’s long overdue for a modern upgrade.

Another candidate is Killzone: Liberation, a top-down shooter that offered a unique perspective on the franchise and some of the tightest gameplay on the PSP. The series has been dormant for years, but a remake of this title could easily rekindle interest in the IP. Similarly, Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together combined political intrigue and deep tactical combat, making it a strong contender for a full remake that could appeal to fans of modern strategy games.

There’s no doubt that the PSP was ahead of its time in many respects, but with today’s technology, these older games could reach their full potential. A thoughtful remake isn’t just about graphics—it’s about refining the core experience while honoring what made the original special. As fans continue to clamor for these PSP classics to return, it’s clear that their stories—and their gameplay—still have a lot left to give.
